SheshBesh with Prince Philip at Windsor Castle

“SheshBesh” the Arab-Jewish Ensemble of the Israel Philharmonic performed at Windsor Castle for Prince Philip, Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki Mon and the world’s religious leaders. IPO’s ensemble opened a fascinating conference on the environment attended by leaders from nine of the world’s major faiths – Baha’ism, Buddhism, Christianity, Daoism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Shintoism and Sikhism.

Players of SheshBesh include three IPO members Yossi Arnheim, Saida Bar Lev and Peter Marck; and four of the finest Arab musicians from the North of Israel; Sami Kheshiboun, Bishara Naddaf, Alfred Hajjar and Ramsis Kasis. The guest vocalist was Reham Hamadi.

The celebration was organized by the UK-based international body, the Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) a secular body that helps the major religions of the world to develop their own environmental programs using their own core teachings, beliefs and practices. In attendance were religious leaders from all the corners of the world. The UN secretary General flew in from Afganistan for the event.
